Superb casting with very high quality definition to details. This bust would have been cast using the lost wax technique which produces only one. No foundry marks nor signatures but 19th century original.

Original terracotta sculpture of a Panther on a rocky outcrop. The statue with gilt finish and stamped Belgium serial number and the inscribed signature of A Fagotto. In excellent condition with original finish, this figure is often mistakenly entitled Lioness stalking but the outcrop has a flow of water emminating from the rocks under the panther's front paws and with his tongue outstretched to reach the stream. Armand Fagotto was famous for his lifelike sculptures of animalier such as lions, tigers rarer panthers. His skill as a sculptor in terracotta depicting the power and energy in lifelike models is self evident. He worked in the late 1880's till 1920.

The large size of these antique urns or vases indicates they were used for silk flowers or wrought iron candelabra tops. They have recently been electrified and have hand stitched parchement shades adorned with gilt bullion fringe cords. The shaped shades are open to the back and the urns are carved in solid wood and have been burnished with silver leaf front and sides. The backs are left plain as this surface would have been left facing the wall hence unseen. Complete with vintage shades that may easily be changed to suit your needs. These Roman vase shaped candle holders ( torchere) have recently been electrified with black cord and inline switch with Australian plugs.

This carved sculpture figure is mounted on a water gilt cross in matt and burnished gold and is fitted to a silk backing. The original 19th century frame in carved and gilded wood in the Louis XVI manner of 1780.
Original condition and complete the backing of the panel with applied vintage wall paper to prevent humidity ingress from those ancient french stone walls upon which this may have been hung.

With original wrought iron candle pricket top, these gorgeous candelsticks are made of fruitwood with turned and carved details. The surface is smoothed with gesso and then silver leaf is applied and partially burnished to a fine smooth surface. Raised on fluted pedestals with carved lion feet. The front of each pedestal with fluted details and the back with an inscribed panel, illegible. Minor losses to some silver edges consistent with age and use.

Extremely rare antique white porcelain neoclassical floor vase of monumental size possibly KPM Berlin, late 18th century with gilt bronze ormolu mount.
The huge egg shaped body with tall neck opening is gadrooned with Laurel leaf swags all hand formed. Such a large single piece of fired porecelain required enormous technical proficiency
This huge neoclassical vase is made in two sections and is joined with a gilt bronze acanthus mount separating the two parts that are bolted firmly together. The foot of the vase is a classic turned plinth shape. There are minor surface chips and repairs loctated just under the bronze ring which hides these repairs well. A similar shaped vase made by KPM may be seen in the Applied Museums in Berlin. This late 18th century vase may have preceded the traditional blue sceptre signature of KPM. Whilst this rare example is unsigned it may have been mounted on an another 8 sided pedestal base that would have thus been marked with the KPM signature.
KPM was founded by King Frederick the Great in 1763.

Modelled after the rare pair of ewers named Sacred to Bacchus and Neptune these giant ewers are sculpted with mermen like figure with scrolling fishtails, their hands firmly grasping the neck of the ewer as though riding a wave. The grotesque head of a sea monster above a baluster shaped ewer body with reeded and turned socle to square pedestal. These large ewers are unsigned and undated but have clear reference to the original black basalt urns sculpted for John Flaxman for the Wedgwood factory in 1770. Description Antique Italian solid marble sculpture of the ancient Roman goddess Ceres in Art deco pre-raphaelite manner.
Ceres is the Roman goddess of agriculture with the power to make bountiful harvests and bear fruitfulness. She is carved from the pure white Cararra marble. The flawless white stone head is combined with a darker brown marble bust to represent the earth that Ceres blesses. A wheat sheaf sprouts from her bosom symbolising the abundant harvest and prosperity. A paper label attached under the base is from the previous owner who purchased this statue in Milan and brought it to Australia in 1940. The label erroneously attributes the statue as of "Francesca Da Rimoni " by Prof Quadri. The marble sculpture is unsigned. The attribution to Francesca Da Rimini may be because of a similarity of her face to a painting of the same name by Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres dated 1819. Italian early 20th century. Master sculptor Joseph Le Guluche 1849-1915. Signed by the artist and various factory stamps from L'Isle-Adam and model number 449. Joseph Le Guluche was a French sculptor. He mainly produced popular subjects for the decorative pottery manufactures of Villenauxe-la-Grande (Aube) and L'Isle-Adam (Val-d'Oise). The collaboration of Joseph Le Guluche with the Mauger families and especially with Alphonse Hanne marks the golden age of these factories. His work is divided into several main categories: the subjects of the seaside, the rural subjects, the feminine allegories of Art Nouveau inspiration, the Orientalist subjects.

The well sculpted pose of the athletic lady with contemplative but focused visage looking into the distance. Her Amazonian hair style in the neoclassical manner ( think Wonderwoman) . She sits upon a lion's skin aluding to the neoclassical pose of a Shinx.
The artists is Arturo Comelli who was born in Nimis Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Italy. He studied as a monumental mason and emigrated to Australia in 1926 from North Eastern Italy. Comelli wanted his sculptures to be seen and to that end he experimented with many mediums. This statue is most likely a composit of marble dust and cement and holds the sculptures incision marks perfectly just like terracotta. Overall hand painted bronzed finish befitting the warrior nude.
The State Library of South Australia currently holds a bust of Donald Bradman also by Comelli. Signed to base A Comelli '63

This hand sculpted terracotta although unsigned and may have been a test piece for particular fired glaze colours and how they perform visually on the sculpture. A number of well documented sculptures signed by Fagotto show the same flowing majesty .

A rare and unusually large statue by of Rebecca at the well from the Viennese factory of GOLDSCHEIDER and signed by the artist scuptor painter Otto Petri.. In perfect original condition this fired terracotta figure with original painted finish including gilding highlights and shading.
Stamped and signed to base. It is most unusual to find such a big sized terracotta in perfect condition. It is quite likely that this was made as an exhibition piece . The well sculpted figure of a lady at a well with two urns . Friedrich Goldscheider ( 1845-1897) sculpted by Otto Petri (1860-1942) painted ceramic statue circa 1902 Austrian circa 1902

Description Antique French terracotta sculpture of The Lovers Wedding hand sculpted and stamped U&C with date stamp . This late 19th century statue is would most likely have been painted and gilt with gold leaf highlights like the Goldscheider figures. All terracotta statues are all hand made and cannot be mass produced. It takes the same amount of time and effort as a bronze sculpture. The company stamp is impressed into the terracotta under the base. At some time this sculpture has been stripped of its original hand painted finish back to terracotta. it has been delicately drilled to the base so as to allow it to be made into a lamp but the terracotta remains intact without breaks or chips.
This statue is finished all round to stand in the centre of table as a table top ornament

Often referred to treen the making or small ornate wooden objects for household use, these two collectable needle cases or trinket boxes are made from solid birch. One is in the shape of a lighthouse complete with enhanced lense. The turned top unscrews from its tapering base to reveal a hollowed out needle case inside. The second is in the shape of a mushroom, the top ideal as support for embroidery. The handle is engraved with a leafy branch and the words "Himmelbjerget" or Sky Mountain. It is one of the highest geological peaks in Denmark and has been a tourist destination for centuries. The top of the mushroom can be pulled off the base to reveal a needle case hollowed out inside.

REAL BRONZE heavy statue of a proud horse in the mannerr of da Vinci. A very similar example is in the Metropolitan museum of Art and sculpted by Giovanni Bologna called Giabologna 1529-1608. It was cast in Italy 1575-1653 in the workshop of Francesco Susini.
This statue available is unmarked , no signature of founrdy stamps. It has a beautiful patina and is a wonderful example of equestrian sculpture. It has an integral cast bronze plinth base with later felt pad below.

A very heavy cast statue bust of a beautiful Art Nouveau girl. With a flower in her long trailing hair , she has the countenance of a muse. Scrolling writing across the pedestal entitled MEDITATION, this statue is extremely heavy for its size so possibly cast in stone but with the weight of iron. Well finished in gold leaf with hand applied patina, she is signed to the back possibly by Gross who worked for the GoldScheider company as sculptor. There is also a two number inscription with a germanic 7 and the number 9 . The Art Nouveau period would date from 1890-1910 so it is probably a design or pattern number rather than a year date.

This bronzed spelter lamp still retains its original fittings and vintage cloth cost wiring ....so it may be time to rewire it for safety. He served as a messenger for all other gods and ruled over wealth , good fortune and commerce as well as fertility, hence his athletic physique.
