Antique French animalier paperweight in gilt bronze ormolu as a statue of a dog mounted on chiseled bronze cushion signed stamped underneath base.
Small paperweight statue of a chiseled bronze dog lying on a cushion. The original mercurial gilding is a value point. The signature under the cushion appears as with a star above the centre of the name and --LANG or maybe ---AIANC ...and the square nut covers the beginning of the name. This fine French sculpture and dates from around 1870 and is in good original condition.

The sculpted figure of Christ in carved Dieppe ivory is origin and is in very good condition for its age. This carved sculpture figure is mounted on a water gilt cross in matt and burnished gold and is fitted to a silk backing. The original 19th century frame in carved and gilded wood in the Louis XVI manner of 1780.
Original condition and complete the backing of the panel with applied vintage wall paper to prevent humidity ingress from those ancient french stone walls upon which this may have been hung.

Antique French cast gilt bronze inkwell three herrons surround chiselled ormolu Napoleon III marble 1860. The turned finial top is hinged and reveals the ink well inside. This urn shaped vase is surrounded by three well carved and chiselled herron figures with their heads bowed in reverence for the important work of the writer. Mounted on a bronze naturalistic base to a black marble pedestal.
Usually these inkwells have a replacable glass or ceramic insert. There is no insert to this but they are easily acquired online height 35mm x diameter 35mm. The marble base gives firmness and stability to such an important desktop accessory

The intricate floral and acanthus scroll work inlay in brass in the manner of Charles Andre Boulle over highly figurative rosewood with carved reeded borders and on squat feet. The sides with gilt bronze ring handles and the working lock with an original steel key. The interior with fine silk cushions and compartments with russian Tula cut steel edging. The lid with red moroccan gilt edge leather surround. Superb original condition and complete.

The bracelet and clasp does not have any stampts or hallmarks to attribute this to so assume this may have been an antique Gypsy wedding treasure for a fob watch.

Antique heavy bronze and nickel measuring ruler made by Michelsen of Norway for Danish company Moeller & Lanschutz. This rare and unique vintage ruler bronze and nickel measuring device with cm and Inches. It is stamped underneath by Michelsen of Norway circa 1930 is the ultimate desktop accessory and is very heavy at 360 grams, ideal as a paperweight. The bronze spine is cast in one section and bronze is rivetts through the solid Nickel base. Unusual to this is that the ruler has a slight machined curved base for greater accuracy to the edge whilst retaining the exact dimensions due to its mass and thickness. Moeller and Landschutz is a Danish company that specialises in stationery.

In excellent condition and in its original presentation box, this vintage meat skewer is an ideal letter opener and has the rare rope twist ring at the top of the hilt. The rope twist was a Regency design element and was inspired by Lord Nelson and the battle at Trafalgar. It was also commonly used in Regency chair backs etc.
Hallmarks are nice and clear and show the maker GARRARD and Co , Sterling Silver, London, date leter for 1968.
The ultimate desk top accessory.
In good original condition.

He stands above an Imperial French eagle attached to the delicate engraved blade. The Stanhope is the small glass lense tube attached at the hilt and is a miniature photographic viewer. Each side of the box with tortoise shell covering with edged mounted and engraved with clasps held by silver nails. The whole raised on carved lions paw feet.

The back of the frame bears the sepia mark of noted scrimshaw specialist in Paris C. Ricoux 32 Rue la Boetie Paris . A similar crucifix was sold by Drouot Paris for 2100 Euro : 18th March 2016

Often referred to treen the making or small ornate wooden objects for household use, these two collectable needle cases or trinket boxes are made from solid birch. One is in the shape of a lighthouse complete with enhanced lense. The turned top unscrews from its tapering base to reveal a hollowed out needle case inside. The second is in the shape of a mushroom, the top ideal as support for embroidery. The handle is engraved with a leafy branch and the words "Himmelbjerget" or Sky Mountain. It is one of the highest geological peaks in Denmark and has been a tourist destination for centuries. The top of the mushroom can be pulled off the base to reveal a needle case hollowed out inside.

A genuine George Jensen solid pewter pendant . This vintage Pewter pendant design # 295 is made in Denmark signed Jorgen Jensen. The piece is in good condition, and probably dated circa 60s. Jorgen Jensen was another well-known Danish pewter artist/craftsman. Born in 1931, the son of a realtor, he’s often mistaken for the son of silversmith Georg Jensen, who had the same name. For a short time, he worked at Georg Jensen's workshop, but moved first to Montreal then Stockholm before setting up a studio from 1960-1965 in the basement of a building his father owned in Copenhagen. Jensen liked to work in pewter because he found it pliable and affordable. Unlike the other Jensens, he created simple, fine jewelry in pewter. "Yin and yang can be thought of as complementary (rather than opposing) forces that interact to form a dynamic system in which the whole is greater than the assembled parts" there is a little piece of Yin in every piece of yang and vice versa. All pewter 1960s vintage including original chain. Measurements: disc width 3mm think diameter 2" A few surface scratches and minor dings appropriate for this vintage.

Dimensions Height 104 cm Width 18 cm Depth 10 cm Weight 2.7kg A rare beautifully made ceremonial mace in repousse copper and mercurial gilding. Apparently similar but smaller examples were brought out of India in the 1980's by an English Antiques connoisseur. This item is twice that size. Hand beaten from sheets of copper or brass. The skills in this repousse work is formidable, working to form the image from the inside out including the well figured leopards head. Made in four sections and joined internally with hand cut steel screw thread. The entire piece is then mercurial gilded with real gold. This type of mace known as a Soota or souta was usually carried by a Soota berdar as part of the regalia of a Maharaja. A similar example was sold by Christies in October 2011 in south Kensington for GBP 13,750.

Rare pair of Swedish Porphyry candelsticks with mercurial gilt bronze mounts. This gorgeous pair are in excellent condition and the Swedish stone is unique and faultless, no chips or repairs. In the Empire manner, with reeded column with chisseled floral acanthus scrollwork with palmette top. Still retain their original bronze wax drip trays / bobeche that hold the candle. Porphyry was mined in Alvdalen since 1788 . It was later aquired by the King of Sweden Karl XIV Johan, and these candelsticks would date and come from this source. The lower platform base with turned ornamentation and shaped bases are all original and the gilding is flawless and original
