Antique tall Empire hall mirror and pedestal cabinet original mirror glass carved mahogany columns 1815. The mirror is separate to the cabinet and could be hung with some space between so as not to rest on the beautiful flame mahogany french polished surface. Both cabinet and mirror frame in matching flame mahogany with flanking classical columns. The cabinet with shaped frieze drawer below the top and a barrel front shaped convex door. Both with original locks and a key to maintain the minimalist appeal. The shelf inside is lift out. The carved neoclassical acanthus carved corinthian columns. Original patina to mahogany frame and with original silvered mirror glass- a value point as antique mirror glass was usually more expensive than the wooden frame that held them. A stepped frame to the base finishes this gorgeous mirror well.

This rare Danish late 18th century bureau desk comes apart into 3 easy movable sections. The top with its Gustavian reeded front drawer flanked by arched pediments sits on top of the mid section . A central door opens with a key and reveals interior drawers. This is flanked by clever design tambour front doors that slide sideways to open onto bookshelves. The lower section with a double front drawer that folds opens with a key and slides out eaasily to reveal a fitted interior. 3 full width deep drawers below. Raised on turned and fluted front legs that accentuate the fluted front facade of Swedish 18th century Gustavian design. Good original polished patina is a value. French Louis XV Bijouterie jewellery cabinet inlaid with ornate marquetry in satinwood and other precious timbers. The gilt bronze ormolu mounts and superb quality of craftsmanship dates this cabinet to the Belle Epoche era in Paris 1871-1880. The marquetry inlay to the top with musical instruments and inscribed detailed musical scores. The marquetry is carried over to all four sides so it can stand in the centre of a room. A sliding extension just under the top opens to reveal a blue silk velvet surface so you can show off those loose diamonds. The landscape marquetry door opens with a key to reveal four exquisite drawers inside all beautifully made with precision. Bijouterie cabinets were made to store precious objects such as gem stones jewels or watches. Ideal for pocket watches.

Polished all round this canterbury with burl walnut top with gothic arched brass gallery resting on two ornate pierced walnut supports. These terminate to a substantial shaped base raised on turned legs. The base has a hidden drawer and has two further divisions above also with matching carved fretwork. The term "canterbury" refers to the a furniture item that stored sheet music and folios ...and later LP records and magazines. They have been in favour since the Georgian times of 1780 and still find a use for today's lifestyles. To own a canterbury in the 1860's was considered a status symbol for a wealthy household.

These types of column pedestals were usually used as torchere or candelabra stands or for sculpture display and would also floral displays in ornate vases or busts or statues.
The hand painted Gustavian grey neutral colour suits many interiors . The rectangular top with footprint on W34 x D26cm will suit most medium size statues. An architectural moulding extends the pedestal width and depth. The front with Grecian key pattern carved below the moulding and the sides with carved patera florals. The surface is fluted in the neoclassical column style and rests on a plinth base. The front of the pedestal column has a door that is hinged and opens to reveal, later, lift out shelves. There is also a hidden compartment inside.

The shaped double drawer front is actually a hinged door and has an internal drawer hidden inside. More floral accents to front and carved legs with convex sides. This gorgeous cabinet has many uses as hallway console table, sideboard or even as a bedside cabinet.
Rococo cabinets of these dimensions were very rare in the late 18th century and the demand for quality antiques influenced a revival in Italy for hand painted and carved the early rococo furniture. This unique cabinet was made in the early 1920's to suit more modern proportions and designer's requirements for function. Minor scuffs but in good sturdy condition and good original patina.

The exterior is hand painted with a triumphant scene of angels celebrating the birth of George Augustus Frederick on 12 August 1762. he would eventually inherit the British crown and become King George IV . The new born is depicted in the arms of an angel presenting the youngest royal to King George III seated on the right. Good original painted finish. This cabinet would have been wall mounted and may have held the family silver safely far above your prying hands.

The upper glazed doors retain their hand blown glass with bevelled ground edges. Shelves are adjustable. The polished top between glass doors and drawers is of polished flame mahogany. There are traces of a former column support that would have raised the cabinet even higher but this has long since been lost in transit. The footprint of the glass door cabinet hides these former fixings well.

The upper glazed doors retain their hand blown glass which has a gently curvature to each pane almost bow front. Shelves are adjustable. A single drawer below with a central writing slope flanked by two compartments with slide back lids. The two panel doors below reveal a large storage area with a shelf. All surfaces retain their original blonde mahogany veneers in the much sought after desirable faded blonde mahogany.

The whole raised on elegant chamfered tapering legs in the neoclassical Georgian manner. The superb quality crafstmanship of this display cabinet is a testament to the Scandinavian reverence for fine aged timber. Superbly carved and detailed and all with the original blond walnut polish that is so sought after in today's interiors. Ideal use as display cabinet, buffet or even as a bookcase. Description An antique Nordic Art Nouveau Deco style sideboard or bookcase with Brazilian rosewood and burl alder veneers. Consisting or a solid set of three architectural doors opening with keys. When opened these reveal adjustable internal shelves and three shallow top drawers inside. The fluted pediments to the doors hide the keyholes well. A fielded panel of rare Alder root veneer is surrounded by Brazilian rosewood contrast and ashwood mouldings. At the base of the doors are three individually carved mask heads of Nordic mythiological design surrounded by new wheat sheaf growth in stylised scroll form flanking each of the carved mythological faces.

The gorgeous black and grey figured marble top over two doors that open with a key. Inside is a single adjustable height shelf . Below this compartment are two deep drawers all opening with keys in keeping with the minimalist aesthetic of the Biedermeier revival period. The entire cabinet is in birch with figurative satin birch to all vertical surfaces. Raised on tapering legs in the classic style. Two keys supplied to working locks. Sweden circa 1920

Description Northern European late Biedermeier pier cabinet with ebony inlay. This beautiful and practical cabinet has a burl walnut door that opens onto three shaped shelves with fitted internal drawers in oak. The fitted drawer in the top frieze with burr walnut front. There is also a large drawer fitted to the plinth. All have brass escutcheons and working locks and key supplied. In excellent original condition ...a value point. An unusual raised platform top for that special statue candelabra or clock with secret compartment..

Description An antique carved oak Gothic style Medieval sideboard. The top with carved ornate border resting on a superbly carved coffer or cassone base. The cabinet of architectural form with knights in full armour as corner pilasters and with carved oak panels. Each of the three doors carved with middle ages themes open on hinged brass fittings and brass locks with working key. The two door panels open to shelved spaces flanking the centre panel hinged to the bottom reveals two oak drawers with brass ring pull handles. One panel door has a year date carved ANNO 1282 .
