Antique William IV dumb waiter sideboard buffet with 2 drawers and panel doors for storage, English circa 1830
The well french polished top with ornate carved back over a pair of flame mahogany drawer fronts in the apron.
Raised on neoclassical reeded columns this sit over a cabinet with two flame mahogany panel doors.
The doors open with a brass key and have original brass hinges lock and brass thumb nail cabinet bolts.
The interior with a removable single shelf .
The size and height serves many
uses as a sideboard, TV stand , bookshelf stereo cabinet or even as a sideboard in a formal setting.
In superb condition with good
french polished finish using highest quality timbers. All drawers open very
smoothly.

Dumbwaiters were used in the dining or supper room to assist the household to entertain and serve food etc without the use of a live servant and allowed for more privacy.
Silver trays were used on the polished mahogany surfaces which held fruit and other foods. The drawers held the cutlery and the doors below hed with china plates and wine etc.
