Antique Baroque farmhouse painted pine armoire original circa 1800 with painted finish wrought iron.

Good original condition with molded top pelmet and lower plinth raised on turned feet.

The two doors with original wrought iron hinges and ornate lock and key.  The two doors open to reveal a series of removable shelves .  Ideal for use as sereo or TV cabinet.

A dark patina finish over the original farmhouse painted original finish.  Usually made bespoke to celebrate a marriage, this one has the name Schaeffer and is dated 1800.

 

Internal depth of more than 50 cm which makes this a very versatile piece of furniture for hanging cloths in the modern way. .

This beautiful and practical cabinet is in original condition with superb quality intarsia in satinwood inlaid to flame mahogany. The top with a fitted full width frieze drawer and below this two doors open revealing a large storage space.

Four more drawers fitted below all with meandering marquetry inlay and penwork in fruitwood.

The cabinet flanked by facetted Gothic columns and raised on turned bun .

Each drawer and door opens with traditional push pull steel keys and original working locks in the minimalist manner.

Superb quality Georgian Chippendale mahogany single door Armoire silk lined wardrobe with arch top 1870.

 

 

Beautiful carved architectural pelmet with a curved pediment to the top and with shaped corners is typical of the Georgian Chippendale period of the 18th century .

 

The single bevel edged mirror door with flame mahogany panel. The door opens with a key and a turn knob lock to reveal a large open space inside with original silk lining . a hanging rail is fitted under an upper shelf and original brass hooks . 

The door is flanked by carved ornate acanthus florettes and framing.

The whole raised shaped chippendale bracket feet.

 

Superb well cared for condition and original french polished patina.  Working key supplied.

Description

Rare French colonial armoire two door wardrobe in heavy solid rosewood with fitted drawers 1860 Nalopeon III colonial era.

 

Beautiful architectural solid rosewood pelmet with a rounded corners is typical of the French Louis Philippe and 2nd Empire style of 1820-1835.

The two doors with double plank insert panels to solid rosewood frames with brass hinges. An ebony inlaid escutcheon to each door. Hand forged Empire lock and working key supplied. Once opened the interior features three removable shelves. The centre shelf with two straight front drawers below.

 

Original polished finish to gorgeous figurative grain heavy rosewood.

Due to the rarity and cost this type of rosewood would have only been used as a veneer back in France but here it was sused in the solid indicating manufacture close to the source of the wood or perhaps a Port Town.

The interior with hand wrought iron hooks holding down the lift off top and door catch and the usual French jointing construction bolts to help together the casework from inside.

 

If you require hanging space it would be easy to just lift out the shelves and insert a hanging rod.

Description

Rare late Empire period antique door wardrobe Schrank or armoire in blonde walnut.

The stepped top with ebonised molding over two panel doors.

These are flanked by caryatid columns to either side with carved and ebonized details.

Original brass escutcheons lock and key all original circa 1815 .

The hanging space inside has had later shelving added. These lift out.

Good original condition with stepped top pelmet supported on full turned and carved columns and lower stepped plinth raised on carved turned and ebonised feet.

The two doors open with a steel key with original wrought iron lock and bolts. 

 

The two doors open to reveal a large open space H179 x W120 x D43cm.

A patina finish over the original farmhouse painted finish. 

Two faux drawer fronts below the two doors ideal for storage inside.

Title  Biedermeier flame mahogany single door Armoire with upper hat compartment  with convex doors 1820


Description

A flame mahogany Biedermeier Schrank, armoire or wardrobe. Pieces such as these were often made in pairs, one being a fall front desk with drawers the other matching in appearance but having a false front that is actually a door for linen storage or wardrobe such as this piece. The beautifully matched vertical veneers are in superb condition. The wardrobe door opens to reveal  moveable shelving but could also be used as hanging space.

Above this  wardrobe space is an amazing convex shaped double door hat compartment.

The same ornate brass key opens both locks top and bottom. Beautiful architectural scrollwork applied to the top is typical of the northern German or Scandinavian late Empire style known as early Biedermeier.

Two drawers fitted into the base with turned wood handles.

This wardrobe has been fully restored in Scandinavia. It has been stripped back to the blond wood and waxed. Minor traces of old woodworm but all nice and solid and sturdy with a golden waxed patina.
