Metropolitan museum of Art and sculpted by Giovanni Bologna called Giabologna
1529-1608. It was cast in Italy 1575-1653 in the workshop of Francesco

This statue available is unmarked
, no signature of founrdy stamps. It has a beautiful patina and is a wonderful
example of equestrian sculpture.

Description
A solid bronze cast cauldron shaped large bowl of substantial weight of 3.6kg. The gorgeous shaped bowl with flared base and well rounded upper lid edge. Below this lid is a banding on incised and silver inlaid floral design that joins the double handle lugs on each side. These ligs are applied with hand turned and wrought hand made brass nuts to the inside.
No signatured or stamps, consistent with temple or monastery pieces or very high quality.
The shape, is an interpretation of the terracotta urns used to ferment suaces or contain wine, whereby the lid was fastened with cord through the handle lugs and a seal of clay , applied around these cords.
Sometimes these caulron shapes are used in temples and filled with sand to hold burning incensence taper sticks.

This gorgeous pair are in
excellent condition and the Swedish stone is unique and faultless, no chips or
repairs.
In the Empire manner, with reeded
column with chisseled floral acanthus scrollwork with palmette top. Still retain
their original bronze wax drip trays / bobeche that hold the candle.
Porphyry was mined in Alvdalen
since 1788 . It was later aquired by the King of Sweden Karl XIV Johan, and
these candelsticks would date and come from this source.
The lower platform base with
turned ornamentation and shaped bases are all original and the gilding is
flawless and original

Description Rare German art deco period (genuine) 1920's bronze statue of a maiden dressed in neoclassical draped clothing. Her hair in ringlets and in the period style with raised arms and hands above her head , she would have help a silvered piece of mirror glass, possibly with engraved design, but alas this mirror is no more, so the opportunity to supply one with your own design is here now!
The statue is cast in solid bronze with sculpted and carved details and is raised on a rectangular base raised on four stylised Georgian feet.
This bronze is not signed or dated, but thats no unusual for a bronze of the early 20th century like this. There is a small degree of repair to one arm but is hardly noticeable , please view all images. The maiden's head and hands are incised in order to hold the slice of mirror glass. again images are supplied below. German circa 1920. Metropolis is a movie created in the early film period of Germany, when it rivalled Hollywood for creation, technical supremacy and artistry. its the story of love and devotion and the style of this statue is clearly reminiscent of that period as the lady who leads, AMAZONE style, in bronze.
