Large hand stitched tapestry of a Georgian Scottish Hunting scene circa 1820 in vintage carved gilt frame.
The rural highland landscape with maiden discovering a thirsty hunter at the stream. On the distance hills other figrues on horsback are tracing the precious water source. The huntsman complete with kilt and steel button sach belt is dringing from the stream. A hunting dog at his feet is drinking from the pond. In excellent condition for its age this Georgian era Scottish tapestry is mounted in a 20th century frame.

Rare classic vintage Swedish semi antique hand woven woolen rug Rollakan carpet ryamatta original 1950's mid 20th century original hand woven.
Sweden developed their own traditional weaving techniques and flat weave rollakans or ryas were prized posessions even from Viking times. Extraordinary examples were given as wedding gifts reflecting the status of the families to be joined. The Kelim style of geometric design suits many interiors and this example in wool is double sided with intricate knots. The colours used reflect tradition and also herald in the mid century modernist symplicity for elegance with practicality. This Rya matta may be used and viewed from either side and is in excellent condition for its age. Sweden 1950

Deer King JATAKA This Chinese pictorian buddhist tapestry or pillar carpet would originally have adorned a great temple of worship and would have been hung on the wall. The legend depicted is that the bodhisattva was reborn as a ruru deer. The deer hears a man in distress and rescues him from the river ...and eventually travels preaching the dhamma.
