Antique original Scandinavian hallway pier cabinet or bedside cabinet in mahogany and flame mahogany with door & drawer and internal shelves. All working locks and a key 1845.
The serpentine shaped top in original polished mahogany with a lovely rich patina. A full width drawer below the top with book matched flame mahogany veneer front and gilt brass handle and escutcheon keyhole . A shaped front panel door below with working lock and key. The 2 shelves inside are removable and lift out. Raised on turned front legs and block back feet. This Danish original is of the late Biedermeier period which influenced the simplicity elegance and design of the Art Deco period of the early 20th century. These shallow depth hallway console cabinets are ideal storage in smaller spaces and are well suited as hallway console table or even as a bedside cabinet.
Good original polished finish and working key.

Antique marquetry hallway console cabinet bedside with ornate inlaid top and carved corbell details 1850.
The serpentine shaped top in original polished mahogany with richly inlaid satinwood and Brazilian rosewood and a lovely rich patina. A full width drawer below the top with book matched flame mahogany cross banding edging veneer and brass escutcheon keyhole with working lock. A finely worked jewel like steel key is supplied and working well and, in the minimalist Biedermeier aesthetic, are used as a push /pull handle to open and close with. A shaped front panel door below with working lock and again an ornate cut steel key is supplied. These keys were the state of the art in fine metal work and are a treasure to hold!
Raised on ornate carved front legs and block back feet. This Danish original is of the late Biedermeier period which influenced the simplicity elegance and design of the Art Deco period . These shallow depth hallway console cabinets are ideal storage in smaller spaces and are well suited as hallway console table or even as a bedside cabinet.

Each drawer with satinwood, kingwood and marquetry inlay and cross banding in tulip wood and ebony stringing. Original bronze handles escutcheons and ormolu mounts. Raised on cabriole legs with bronze mounts and sabot feet. Marble top lifts off the cabinet for safe transport.

The walnut top with cross banded edges over a single drawer ideal for jewellery or cufflinks etc. Raised on elegant tapering legs with brass feet. The drawer with turned walnut knobs and faux escutcheon in the antique manner.
Note that tables of this size did not exist in the antique hence this apprentice piece with its smaller scale will suit many modern uses such as bedside table etc. Polished all round with ebonized base so it can stand in the centre of a room.

Antique Georgian Sheraton fold over games sewing or centre table with satinwood inlay two tier circa 1905. Raised on elegant slayed outward Georgian style tapering legs finished with string inlay. Good french polished finish. The top with satinwood cross banding and marquetry shell inlay. It has a slight bow to the top that would probably straighten out with a few heavy books or a lamp on top. This top rotates and is hinged open to reveal a green baize centre for card games etc. A later added drawer with pleated cloth sides is ideal for haberdashery or shess pieces etc. The size and height of this table makes it ideal for use as a bedside table too.

It is beautifully veneered in figurative verticle cherrywood veneers and edges of solid ebony string inlay. Raised on a stepped plinth. Superb quality ideal for any room and will blend equally well in an Art Deco interior. Ideal as a stand for sculpture or a statue as it is beautifully polished right round. Replaced lock and ornate brass knobs. The cabinet has a seal stamp underneath with a crown and initials T T. It stems from the noble family collection of Thurn and Taxis . Its very rare for any Biedermeier furniture to be signed and as the seal bears a crown in the stamp this Nobility provenance would certainly have commissioned other furniture for their castle Shoenburg. The cabinet doors open with a key to spring loaded click catch so no need for handles. The interior with a lift out shelf. Original pair left and right hand side would look perfect as side tables on either side of a settee.
