Original painted finish. Two hollw metal arms scroll upwards with gold leaf finish and wrought metal leaves. The wall lights with vintage European conversion to electricity with to suit small standard screw lamps. Original wiring and fittings may need to be updated by your local electrician if hard wired into an interior. Originally these wall lamps were designed for use with traditional wax candles.
Perfect as a pair of sconces on either side of a mirror in the bathroom or hallway illumination. Superb quality carved gilt gold leaf with ornate shaped wallplate.

The ornate cast bronze with gilt finish sconces originally for candle power but with later electification with four lamp holders. The 3 ornate scroll arms attached to a decorative wall plate and with acanthus scrolls in the romantic baroque manner.
Perfect for either side of a mirror or hallway illumination.
As with all hard wired used electricals your licensed electrician will need to verify their safety at installation. Being vintage and French the wiring would most likely need to be replaced to standard Australian requirements and easy job for the many retired electricians employed by various lighting shops. .

Description Pair large antique French Louis XV wall lights with 3 candle scones and ornate gothic scroll castings circa 1870. The ornate scroll arms attached to a decorative wall plate and with acanthus scrolls in the romantic neo gothic manner. The multi branch candelabra arms are made of hollow brass and may have been originally used for gas lights. The candle holders with hollow screw thread ends inside indicate that these were electrified at one time. There is no wiring nor fittings in place. If you want to electrify these it should be an easy job as the arms are hollow. As with all hard wired used electricals your licensed electrician will need to verify their safety at installation.
