Description
A double door Biedermeier
revival marquetry bow fronted wardrobe or linen press. This early 1900's pre Art Deco wardrobe with two doors with curved fronts and ornate marquetry inlay. The doors are interlocking and are opened with a single key to the original up down door bolt.
When opened the doors reveal four loose mahogany veneered shelves and belo this a single full width drawer with brass handles. The whole is raised by elegant sleigh legs of the Biedermeier period design. An added bonus it that this armoire is made in tradtitional European manner and can be dissassembled to a virtual "flat pack".
Minor veneer blemishes comensurate with age and use and original polished finish.
Internal space is W115cm , D 45 cm , H145cm plus drawer height of an additional 21cm .

Description
A double door Biedermeier wardrobe or linen press. Each door with two separate panels in walnut. the double Chapeau de Gendarme top hints to the French Empire origin . Carved pilasters to each corner and ornate brass escutcheon with working lock and key.
The interior with four shelves with a depth of 38 cm . Easily converted to hanging space if required.
Good original patina and finish.

well carved details to fluting and colums sides. the door opens with a brass key
turning a spring loaded lock . A steel rail inside for hanging cloths and fitted
knotched shelf supports if required.

the cabinet interior may have been mirrored too as it now has an ornamental
paper finish.

Description
A north German flame mahogany
Biedermeier Schrank or armoire wardrobe. Pieces such as these were often made in
pairs, one being afall front desk with drawers the other matching in appearance
but having a false front that is actually a door, such as this piece. The
beautifully matched vertical veneers are in superb condition. The wardrobe door
opens to reveal shelving but could also be used as hanging space. Internal
dimensions are W101 cm D 42 cm, so deep enough for hanging.
above this is an amazing double
door convex shaped hat compartment. the same ornate brass key opend both locks
top and bottom. Beautiful scrollwork applied to the top is typical of the
northern German Late Empire early Biedermeier style.

in demand for quality ship building.
Other original features of this
armoire is the original bevelled edged mirror door, with brass handles locks and
key . two deep lower drawers neatly fitted below, again with brass handles.
Original victorian hanging hooks
in gilt bronze and porcelain compliment the hanging rod within. All original
patina and finish .

SUPERB quality antique rare French corner wardrobe , armoire or biblioteque bookcase.
The cabinet consists of traditionally made 19th century cabinetry methods. This fine antique furniture piece may be disassembled into flat sections for easy transport up and down stairs. Internal bolts hold the sides together to the base and top , with internal divisions , backing boards and adjustable shelves to the end wire door compartments. The central compartment is full height and may be used for shelving or for hanging.
Beautifully hand carved wreaths and garlands with lattice work carved solid door panels, ormolu escutcheons and original brass keys and locks all complete this rare piece of European antique furniture.

The depth for hanging is just

original turned timber clothes hooks inside.
The top pelmet unscrews as does
