An original late georgian tilt top wine table with polished circular top. These tables were usually tilted up when not in use and were very practical as lamp or bedsdie tables, and easily moved around. The stable and unusual legs and turned mahogany column give this table a unique style almost Biedermeier or Directoire.

A well made refectory table in the early Georgian manner. The solid oak top raised on six turned legs joined by stretchers and with traditional pegged through construction. A lovely antique Georgian patina covers the entire surface all hand made. Coffee or centre tables such as these are bespoke made and hand finished to emmulate Georgian antique furniture of the 18th century. The proportions are correct for modern day living requirements but herald back in style to a bygone era. Coffee tables did not exist until the second half of the 20th century when designers insisted on their use for modern day lifestyle interiors.

Description
In the English Tudor or Scottish baronial manner, this heavy solid oak dining table features four massive oak carved legs of cup and cover form joined by a "H" stretcher. on top of this lies a 1/4 panel oak top with beuatiful grain and underneath are two pull out draw leaves for extension. These can be used individually or as a pair and the result is maginificent. A tabel that would seat 10-12 diners depending on seat type and size. Traditionally they would have used "forms" or long benches on each side and armchairs at the end for the lord and lady of the manner.

A large solid rosewood dining table to seat 6 persons , possibly 8. Nicely made from solid rosewood and raised on elegant tapering solid rosewood legs. Unusual to see this timber in the solid as it is usually veneered due to the expense of the wood. The Scandianvian design is very popular and this is a fine example of the period and in excellent condition with a hand polished satin glow. The edges of the top have been carved right round to show the solidity of the top and give lightness of design to the finished surface.

Large English Regency style dining table to seat 8. Marquetry inlaid top with crossbanding and flame mahogany centre. Raised on four reeded column supports to platform with four sabre legs addorned with boxwood inlay, brass pieced gallery, gilt ormolu rozettes and square brass feet with integrated castors. Most probably made by the British company of William Tillman who was making fine reproduction furniture from the 1970's until his retirement at the end of the 1990's and his work is considered to be of the highest quality and collected throughout the world. It has been sold in all of the famous London Stores including Harrods, Peter Jones and Maples and will almost certainly be considered important antique furniture of the future. Every piece of furniture was produced with the utmost skill and knowledge to ensure that the finished article would bear the most critical comparison with the original. Whilst the polish used was resistant to heat and water, the finished surface has a wax patination similar to that found on early furniture. Tillman pieces won the British Furniture Manufacturers, showpiece of the Year award in three consecutive years.

An antique Regency period fold leaf dining table of recantular form. The finely polished blonde mahogany top with a lovely golden lustre and good patina. Prussian German Empire Mahogany sofa table with one full width fitted drawer to apron and fold down extensions. Wonderful Cuban mahogany top and mahogany veneers with intricate inlays and ebonised fruitwood details. Raised on a two lyre form pedestals in the Regency manner with sabre leg supports. The fruitwood (cherry) inlays are typical of the quality of workmanship demanded by Prussia's most famous neoclassical architect K F Schinkel and may well have been intended for one of his royal patronage.

An antique Swedish solid oak Baroque dining table with traditional painted finish. Raised on massive turned oak legs, peg jointed and joined by a central "y" stretcher. The 18th century marble top seen, here upside down for modern convenience, has a molded edge with concave cut moulding running along the underneath edge (original top surface). Some minor marks to the current surface but the 18th century top has all the patina of a well used bygone era, hence inverted. Well sized to seat 6 persons with apron height of 63cm at sides.

A n early Australian colonial full cedar dining table. Made in the barossa valley circa 1850-1860 , it harks back to early Biedermeier and Regency examples. The solid turned single piece of cedar centre supports two massive cedar planks that form the top of the table. Thse planks are at the widest 56cm wide. Completely original in finish and patina and fitted with brass bolts for tilting and on castors hidden within the scroll feet.

Danish Empire Biedermeier solid oak oval extension table . This gorgeous blonde wood table is raised on an elegant shaped central pedestal with lower platform with stylised feet. No additional table leaves exist but are easily made up, as they were usually made of pine and draped with fine linen. A gorgeous large rouge marble top dining table to seat eight comfortably. The ebonised central column with carved acanthus and turned work. Surrounding this main column are four ornate French Art Deco columns raised on turned rouge marble plinths. Each marble pillar with mercurial gilt bronze ormolu capital and bases, terminating in a shaped ebonised platform, raised on squat bun feet. Unmistakable art deco influence is further enhanced by the ebony moulding surrounding the massive rouge marble top and apron. Note that the marble has not been sealed with those awful modern plastic resin finishes like so many bad replica copy tables and this gives the marble great texture, colour and a natural feel. A good wax is al that is required to maintain the table top in good condition.

Antique English Regency rosewood fold over tea table in well figured Brazillian rosewood / Jacaranda. the top swivels and folds open to reveal bookmatched figurative veneers on both sides. Raised on a concave shaped tapering column in the simplest of styles, this table could easily be mistaken stylistically for an Art Deco piece, a design period that arrived 100 years later. The Regency period also heavily influenced the continental Biedermeier simplicity.

French antique Louis XV style coffee table with ormolu mounts to knees and feet. The well shaped top with quarter veneered satinwood and kingwood cross banding and fruitwood inlays. the shaped apron below with satinwood string banding inlays and raised on shaped carbiole legs. Beautifully french polished finish. Although many believe erroneously that coffee tables have been around for centuries , they are in fact a 20th century invention, as seating furniture became lower in line and less formal for entertaining and "lounging" . this created the need for a lower table to place between lounges.

Each table raised on elegant tall tapering fluted legs and with fossil marble tops, these solid oak table frames are very heavy and sturdy and do not require fixing to a wall, they are free standing. It is very unusual to find such well proportioned hall tables and even rarer that they are a pair. The Swedish Gustavian style takes its design influence from the neoclassical French Louis XVI period.

A Sheraton style mid century dining table of large size. The solid top with satinwood inlay on a Brazilian rosewood grain type timber. Supported by four elegant tapering legs with string inlay and spade feet . The apron and legs in fantastic fiddleback veneer. This Georgian style table is most unusual and of large proportions. Georgian originals would only be 72cm high and much smaller. This table size is a modern 76cm high and has a luxurious legroom clearance of 65cm .

An English Regency antique rosewood writing table with a solid top with brass sting inlays to edging and a fitted drawer with more string inlays and an ornate brass key and ormolu empire escutcheon. The drawer fitted with a quality continental double throw lock. Well figured solid rosewood top. Supported on well turned legs and turned stretcher and shaped Gothic arched twin pedestals feet.
A similar table was offered at Dorotheum Salzburg in 2002 with an estimate of 900-1200 Euro estimate and described as late Biedermeier. This is due to the fact that the 19th century allowed the publication and distribution abroad of English furniture design sketch books and line drawings.
