Impossible to find, this rare and

The monopodia feet with acanthus scrollwork and border rest on an original black
painted stepped base. The marble slab, cararra of course, is hand carved . the
back edge of the marble is much thicker than the front but this is hidden by the
external framework. The reason for this difference in thickness is a counter
balance effect so the console is weighted to the back and won't tip forward.
Value point: Original gilding to all carving, in untouched condition. Superb
piece of Empire Karl Johan furniture. This quality and originality should be in
a museum…perhaps Nordiska Museet ?
