The fall front desk top over a shaped serpentine front with two document drawers flanked by two pull out deks top supports and 3 shaped front drawers below . The drop front writing surface with carved oak baroque molding and brass escutcheon with original working lock and key. The writing surface is 79 cm off the ground with generous legroom clearance below top allowing for armchair space! When opened the writing surface measures W 113cm and an overall depth of 60cm plus drawer depth of 35cm. The ornate interior with stepped front drawers and a central comparment and central door with steel key. All drawers open smoothly and have been well serviced. Original steel keys for all working locks included. Waxed polished patina finish makes this a very rare and desirable desk. It is made in the traditional manner in two sections for easy relocation: slope top desk and three drawer chest below.

Below the top is a concave fronted drawer flanked by 2 other drawers. Each drawer opens with the traditional push pull of a key, 3 keys supplied. Superb quality cabinet makers skills shown in dovetail joints to mahogany drawer interiors. Raised on taper legs in the traditional Georgian Sheraton manner and terminating in brass cup castors. Wonderful original french polished patina all round in very good condition designed to stand in the centre of a room.

The carved Chippendale slope top desk with gold leaf mouldingd opens with a steel key and is supported by rare automoated pull out rails on either side of a shallow drawer. These are pulled forward automatically by ingenious iron hingees and rails when the writing surface is opened and pulled down. The interior with 10 drawers and compartments all in perfect working condition. Ther is also a hidden secret compartment .
Four drawers below the desk are also ebonised and fitted with gilt bronze ormolu handles. All drawers open very smoothly as all runners have been adjusted and well serviced. The whole raised on Georgian bracket feet. All pegged construction original 18th century .

Antique Gustavian Swedish 18th century chest of drawers in mahogany with brass mounts & inlay Stockholm circa 1780 All drawers open very smoothly and all locks have been serviced and work well. The Gustavian period drew its influence from French Louis XVI and English Georgian designs of the later 18th century. This classic chest with four drawers with canted corners and tapering legs all with precision brass inlay and mounts most likely from the Eskiltuna workshops. the top drawer is fitted with drop down front and lots of internal drawers ideal for jewellery watches and other treasures.

Antique South German walnut baroque bureau secretaire desk in well figured blond walnut with cherrywood inlay and exquisite fitted interior. The sloping top opens with a key to reveal an intericate interior with various drawers and compartments and with gilt edge tooled leather writing surface. The fold down desk top is supported by two sturdy supports each side. These flank a document drawer. Two serpentine front drawers below with bronze key hole escutcheons and working ornate keys and two further full width drawers below that. All are well polished including the interior. The writing surface is 76 cm off the ground with generous legroom clearance below top.. allowing for armchair space! When opened the writing surface measures W 89cm and depth of 50cm plus internal drawers. The ornate interior with marquetry front drawers comparments and central door with key. All drawers open smoothly and have been well serviced. Two original brass keys for the locks included. Fine french polished finish makes this a very rare and desirable desk.

All drawers open smoothly and have been well serviced. Two original brass keys for the locks included. Fabulous polished patina finish makes this a very rare and desirable desk. It is made in the traditional manner in two sections for easy relocation: desk top and three drawer chest below.

A good polished patina finish with solid cherrywood top completes this gorgeous provincial desk. Of note, this is an 18th century provincial piece that started its life as a very ornate trunk or chest and the desk side is a later adaption as desks of this size and design did not exist in the 18th century. The alteration is beautifully made with traditional hand carved details and pegged construction all in solid french cherrywood.

A gorgeous antique 18th century Cylindre top desk in the sheraton manner. This beautifully made piece of georgian made furniture has two lower drawers above a pull out writing surface that opens the cylindre top, revealing a fitted interior with five drawers. The superb inlay with fruitwood and boxwoods and the butterfly crest centre is carried forward in the lower drawer escutcheons. All locks work and are with keys. The lower taper legs were originally demountable so that they would fit into the drawers when the desk was used abord a sailing ship. Note the anchor emblems to the handles. Red leather tooled writing surface interior. Well polished finish and all marquetry drawers with brass handles.

The unusual size makes this a very versatile piece of antique furniture. Its level desk top height of 91 cm and is ideal as a lamp table or pedestal for an impressive vase full of flowers or sculpture.
The square table top over a single deep drawer with turned wood knob is raised by four sturdy square legs joined by a solid stretcher.
Good original waxed polished patina finish all round. Possibly made for a Merchant marine captain or docklands clerk to check off the cargo manifest. It may even have travelled well around the globe many times on bord a clipper ship! This is a very heavy table in good original condition and is strong and sturdy. The unusualy dense timber is heavy like jarrah, ironbark or rosewood.

Complete with all locks and keys, it very hard to find such a beautiful piece of Empire or Biedermeier furniture in such excellent condition. All locks work smoothly. There is even a cubby hole for your laptop or tablet in the central open compartment. This internal compartment measures for depth 40 cm width 39.5 cm and height 7.5 cm. Flanked by well turned and carved columns and with nicely detailed top edge. Typical of the northern Europe baroque 18th century period the solid bleached oak writing desk with fall front desk top opens with a steel key to working lock. A pair of shallow drawers below the desk are flanked by the automata self extending support rails.. an ingenious design! The slope top desk opens to reveal a fitted multi drawer interior with central door with later inlaid ebony and date as dedication perhaps as a wedding gift?
Three straight fronted drawers below all with inlaid escutcheons and iron ring pull handles. Georgian 1/4 column carved corners are a unique design consistent with the 1780's The whole raised on bracket feet with fretwork corners. Original cast wrought iron 18th century carry handles to the sides. Scandinavian late 18th century with later 1832 decoration in the Empire manner. All drawere open very smoothly and 5 steel keys supplied to working locks.

The desk top with tooled gilt edge green leather top with a lovely well cared for patina. A central drawer with brass original steel key and push pull opening mechanism that also centrally locks all the drawers when closed. This drawer is flanked by three graduated size drawers per side. All drawers open smoothly and are in full mahogany with hand cut dovetail joints. Below the centre drawer and set back to the kneehole space is a double door cabinet that opens with a key to reveal shaped divisions inside. The pedestals are raised ornate carved legs with anthenium scrolls and have solid brass castors underneath to allow for easy moving. Wonderful original french polished patina in very good condition. Polished all round so it can stand in the centre of a room.

Description Superb quality blonde wood cylinder front bureau secretaire desk with fitted interior. This beautiful 1820 original bureau secretaire is the ultimate in a Biedermeier writing desk. The cylinder top rolls back and the desk top pulls out smoothly with a desk height of 79cm and with clearance below of 70cm. The interior is fitted with several secret drawers and various pull out compartments and slides. An ebonised adjustable central writing surface to centre is flanked by two sliding storage compartments. The angle of the black section is adjustable with a ratchet support below.
Beautifully veneered in book matched pyramidis ashwood with ornate grain and retaining original French polished finish. Three bookcase compartments with curved doors flanked by ebonised columns above the desk and with central drawer all crowned by scroll arch top. Below the pull out desk are three drawers all opening with the steel keys in the traditional push pull manner and slides very smoothly as all drawer runners have been adjusted and serviced. The interior is fitted with various pigeon holes and flanked by two drawers with false front drawers below. Below the writing desk are two large lockable drawers with gilt brass handles. The whole raised on elegant taper legs with brass cup feet. Good quality original furniture of this era is very rare and this one is also very practical and retains its original rich golden patina . Antique Biedermeier impressive blonde mahogany desk with scroll shaped cylinder top over pedestal base . Original finish and patina is a value point. Book matched flame mahogany panels framed in mahogany with curved mouldings. The very top drawer pulls open in the traditional minimalist Biedermeier manner with a key. A brass locking mechanism and hinges allows the drawer front to fall flat to reveal a fitted interior. Below this drawer is a serpentine or scoll shaped desk top. It rolls back within the cabinet revealing a fitted interior with drawers and central door. A pull out desk Gorgeous writing surface with gilt tooled black leather surface pulls out to make the desk very ample and comfortable giving a desk top area of 98cm width, 57cm depth and 77cm height and luxurious clearance below of 73cm.
Below the pull out desk top is a full width curved front drawer sitting over a recessed two door ccabinet.

Description Bureau 0685 A well proportioned late provincial oak baroque 1730's secretaire desk in well figured oak with exquisite fitted interior. The shaped serpentine front drawers below the drop front writing surface with brass Chippendale handles and escutcheons. Two arch top carved panel doors with intricate moldings above the desk section with canted corners and carved oak pediment top. The writing surface is 85 cm off the ground with generous legroom clearance of 82cm below top.. allowing for armchair space! When opened the writing surface measures W 110cm. There is a central recess for handy lap top storage and in tradition there is a sliding compartment inside the writing surface...but this desk has a secret! The shallow height drawer below the desk top surface is actually not a drawer. It hides a secret compartment above the three large serpentine lower drawers. All drawers open smoothly and have been well serviced. Three original keys for the locks included. Fabulous original patina finish makes this a very rare piece.

The gorgeous solid figurative oak commode chest of drawers with ebony banding bronze ring pull handles and ornate Louis XVI bronze escutcheons. Made in the traditional manner of the 18th century this large size chest comes apart into three sections for easy moving. The top secion with three drawers featuring a shallow top drawer, a fold down centre drawer with fitted interior with ornate satinwood drawers for the more valuable toys, locks with a steel key. This section sits on top of the lower two drawer chest and in turn sits on a taper leg base with shaped apron and ebony scroll inlay. Original locks to drawers. Superb quality patina and very desirable rare blonde oak finish. Raised on tapering legs traditional to 18th century French Louis XVI furniture. The ornate architectural interior details include column arches and pediments with brass medallion.
All drawers open very smoothly as runners have been well waxed serviced.

Quality such as this is very hard to find and is usually made by noted cabient makers such as David Roentgen (1743-1807), a famous German 18th century cabinetmaker who also supplied the Russian Imperial family. He had shops in both Berlin and in St Petersburg .
